The David S. Kitson Library participates in a parade to celebrate
independence. We enter our own oxcart (below) and have won awards from
the judges for best entries.
The
library, through its participation in the village's affairs, has become
an extremely valuable resource to the community, and it is very much appreciated.
By drawing other foreign residents into the social and business life of
Nosara, they too enjoy the friendship of the villagers. The result is an
unusual amount of cooperation between natives and expatriates in matters
of road and airport maintenance, crime enforcement, health care, and other
important matters that affect all. All agree that the library has become
the vehicle for change and improvement.
